I would not worry too much about having missed your future spouse. God is in control. Get your Bible out, and read Luke chapter 12. It asks why we're worried about the huge things in life when we don't even have control over the little things. Cling to God and keep your eyes on Him, and He won't let you miss the person He has in mind for you.
Personally, I think we're more likely to miss "the one" if we're constantly trying to find him. This is because we're paying more attention to what we want than to what God wants. Burt if we sit still and follow his voice, his will can unfold more perfectly in our lives. Confidently put your future (and past) in his hands, and know that he always gives his best to those who leave the choice with him.
